Has anyone done any business with any contacts from Alibaba.com?? and is Alibaba.com trustworthy?

i have seen some good deals on www.alibaba.com but i havnt tried to do any business yet. because most of the companies want min orders to around $10k-$15K which isnt a huge problem but i am not comfortable losing that much money on a scam... so please help me out! someone!!! even if you have done business else where please share..

personally i would be very skeptical in dealing with any company through the internet business.... alibaba.com is just a facilitator for businesses from china/taiwan/hong kong....they are not liable for the fraud committed by those who post their business in that site.... for info, there are a lot of scams coming out from china's business sector... you might order a shipment of grade 1 goods but when you received your goods, they will turned out to be of lower grade or useless goods... you need to appoint a professional/trustworthy company like SGS etc to check and maintain the quality/quantity of your goods before they are shipped out....
