How to know if a company is legit on alibaba, Generic computer parts?

How can I know if a Company is legitimate. I saw a company from china that has prices on the a item that i want but I do not know if they are legitimate. Another US company I contacted was very nice and supplied me with information about all there products. While that is good and all, how do I know if they are even legitimate?

Also, someone told me that when you see a low price from a chinese supplier that the parts are generic, I was looking at high end computer parts. Is this possible? to make generic knock offs of high end computer parts.

I conducted a lot of business using Alibaba and have never just trusted their site. Although they are trying very hard to protect the buyers, it is difficult to fully protect yourself. When I purchased it was multiple containers exceeding $15,000 per container. If your purchase is small I suggest you buy locally. If your purchase is large then you should find an agent or a rep that is willing to investigate for minimal fee.
