Where do all the vendors in Manhattan's Chinatown get their fake merchandise from?

The hats, purses, clothes, watches, etc...most of them are all the same, but where do they come from? Are there secret Chinese companies that make the stuff? Or what about the real good fakes that you have to go underground or up into some building to get access to?
